Frequently asked questions

What services do you offer?

At Sunny Start Therapies, we provide personalized one-on-one parent consulting sessions designed to equip you with effective tools and strategies to support your child’s development. Led by licensed professionals in occupational and speech therapy, our services focus on essential milestones in motor skills, language, and communication.

Through our consulting, we collaborate directly with parents to address their child’s unique needs, offering expert guidance on incorporating developmental techniques into daily routines. We believe that informed and supported parents are the foundation for helping children thrive. By partnering with us, you’ll gain the confidence and professional insight needed to promote meaningful progress in your child’s developmental journey.

What ages do you work with?

We specialize in one-on-one parent consulting tailored for children ages 0-5, a critical period for early development. During these formative years, children build the foundational skills that support lifelong learning, communication, and motor abilities. Research shows that identifying and addressing developmental delays early can have a profound impact, helping children overcome challenges and reach their potential.

How do I know if my child is delayed?

If you notice delays in your child’s speech, language, motor skills, or difficulty with everyday tasks (like dressing, feeding, or communicating), therapy might be beneficial. We offer free consultations to help determine if our services are the right fit for your child.

DO you take insurance?

At Sunny Start Therapies, we are committed to providing personalized, high-quality consultation to support your child’s developmental journey. Please note that we do not accept insurance at this time. Our services are offered on a private pay basis to ensure the best possible experience and flexibility for families.

Benefits of Private Pay:
-Start right away: No need for a referral or painful call to your insurance company- we are the experts.
-No limits on the number of sessions
-Insurance doesn’t call the shots! We work on what matters to you and your child’s developmental journey, not what insurance dictates.

Can I see how it works before I make a decision?

Yes! We offer a free consultation (20-25 minutes). This allows us to meet you face-to-face (virtually, that is) and discuss your needs and concerns more via virtual call along with demonstrating how we use the platform for parent coaching sessions.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION AND HOW often?

Each coaching session with Sunny Start Therapies is 60-90 minutes, tailored to meet your family’s unique needs and schedule. The frequency of sessions varies based on the specific goals we’re working on, the pace that feels manageable for your family, and your child’s progress. We’ll work together to create an individualized plan that aligns with your comfort level and helps your child thrive on their developmental journey.

How long will i need coaching?

The length of time you’ll benefit from parent coaching varies with each family’s needs and goals. Our ultimate aim is to empower you to feel confident and skilled in supporting your child’s development. Some families find that just a few sessions provide the guidance they need, while others prefer ongoing support to address evolving goals over time.

Our goal is to give you the tools to succeed independently, and when that happens, it’s a success for everyone!
