Our mission
“At Sunny Start Therapies, our mission is to empower parents with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to support their child’s unique developmental journey. We believe that true progress happens when parents feel empowered, capable, and supported in their role. By working together, we create a strong foundation for every child to thrive.”
Hi, we’re lisa & michelle

Hi, we’re Lisa and Michelle—twin sisters, moms, and the founders of Sunny Start Therapies, a pediatric therapy practice offering speech therapy, occupational therapy, virtual parent coaching, and in-home services for families in South Jordan, Utah and surrounding areas.
Being twins, collaboration comes naturally to us. We work closely together, blending speech-language pathology and occupational therapy to support children’s development while helping parents feel confident and supported. Our approach is thoughtful, practical, and rooted in real family life so strategies feel doable, not overwhelming.
Michelle, MOT, OTR/L

Hi, I’m Michelle! I’m a pediatric occupational therapist and a mom to a busy toddler. I support families with practical strategies that fit into daily routines and help children build skills through play and real-life activities.
I have over a decade of experience across special education, inpatient, and outpatient settings, and I’m a certified Early Intervention Specialist in Utah. One of my favorite parts of my work is supporting parents because I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when you’re not sure what your child needs or where to start.
I’m also a mindfulness and yoga instructor, with training in trauma-sensitive yoga and mindfulness-based programs for children and families. My goal is always to help parents feel less overwhelmed, more confident, and supported as they guide their child’s development.
Lisa, M.S., CCC-SLP

Hi, I’m Lisa! I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 13 years of experience, and I’m also a mom of three. I support children from early childhood through the elementary years with speech sound development, expressive and receptive language, stuttering, and overall communication skills.
I specialize in supporting late talkers using a parent-centered, interaction-based approach. I earned my master’s degree in Perth, Australia and have worked in pediatric settings across Australia, Nevada, and Utah, including schools, clinics, and private practice.
I love helping parents understand what’s behind their child’s communication challenges and showing them how small, effective strategies can be used during everyday routines to support progress outside of sessions.
Rooted in Community.
Centered on Connection.
Community is a core part of who we are. In the summer of 2025, we hosted a free six-week community playgroup designed to promote play, connection, and parent involvement. Each week featured themed activities supporting language development, fine and gross motor skills, and sensory exploration, all within a welcoming, low-pressure environment.
We loved creating a space centered on play, connection, and support for families—and that same approach shapes how we work with families every day.
When you work with Sunny Start Therapies, you can expect a warm, collaborative approach that values connection, flexibility, and progress that fits naturally into everyday life. We meet families where they are and partner with parents in ways that feel approachable, thoughtful, and sustainable.
We’re excited to continue growing our community offerings and can’t wait to share what’s coming in 2026.
